Job Summary
Underground Lineworker responsible for inspecting, installing, constructing, maintaining, and repairing underground plant and equipment. Performs cable & conduit installation and operates trucks and equipment in conjunction with inspections, connections, and repairs of cable, conductors, and other plant/equipment. Can assist or be assisted by personnel across the line of progression. Requires ability to learn fundamentals of electricity and the company’s underground electrical system; safety and first aid practices; and the practices of splicing, cable, and conduit work. Starting rate: $39.36 per hour. Location: Dorchester, MA (training in Wareham, MA). Rotating shift work; union-represented position. Working conditions include heavy physical work indoors/outdoors in all seasons. Massachusetts license to operate motor vehicles with satisfactory driving record; CDL strongly preferred and must obtain Class A CDL before progression. EEO/AA employer. No immigration sponsorship. Required Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent
- Two years of electrical/mechanical/technical experience is preferred
- Massachusetts License to Operate Motor Vehicles and a satisfactory driving record
- CDL License strongly preferred
- Must have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL license before progressing to the next level
- Must pass Company approved EEI testing (CAST) and successfully complete Underground prescreen
- Rotating Shift Work is Required
- Ability to learn fundamentals of electricity and the underground electrical system, including splicing, cable, and conduit practices
