Job Summary
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mining equipment and ancillary equipment, including light vehicles, while adhering to all Mine site safety rules and procedures. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services according to the maintenance schedule, document work reports and shift paperwork, and maintain professional relationships with employees, subcontractors, and clients. Practice good housekeeping in the work area and ensure compliance with PPE requirements. This role involves a 14-days on/14-days off rotation at a project location 65 miles outside Elko, Nevada, with camp-style living provided. Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License with manual transmission experience and an Underground MSHA certification.
Required Qualifications
- Mechanical Certificate or Mechanical Degree
- Valid Driver's License
- Manual transmission experience
- Underground MSHA certification
- Ability to recognize and follow verbal and written instructions
- Good radio etiquette and strong communications skills
- Ability to do shift camp work on a rotational basis (dayshift/nightshift), typically the rotations are 2 weeks on site (minimum 12-hour days), followed by 2 weeks off
- Working statutory holidays as they fall within the rotation
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in awkward positions
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, push/pull, and manipulate objects
- Ability to communicate
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Ability to complete a pre-employment Fit-for-Duty medical, including alcohol and drug screening
