Job Summary
Underground Fitter responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and performing maintenance and repairs on underground mining equipment; trains towards a Level 4 trade certification; ensures equipment operates to OEM specifications; maintains accurate time records, technical and failure reports, and parts lists; conducts routine service on UG machines; collaborates with Maintenance Foreman on improvements; contributes to warranty claims and machine improvements; adheres to mine safety standards, ISO 14001/45001, and policies; maintains tools, equipment, and housekeeping; able to work at heights and in extreme conditions, and hold a light vehicle driving license for site access. Responsibilities include training national employees, troubleshooting hydraulic circuits, removing/ fitting bearings, and using hand and power tools; ensure equipment is safe and ready for service; participate in continuous improvement and safe practices; perform other duties as assigned by the Manager underground.
Required Qualifications
- Recognised Mechanical / Fitter Trade / skilled labour certificate or equivalent.
- Training certificate on hydraulic circuits, multistage pumps, jaw crusher and conveyor belt maintenance.
