Job Summary
Underground Field Service Technician for Komatsu Canada in Sudbury. Maintain, repair, and service Komatsu underground mining equipment (including LHDs, haul trucks, jumbos, bolters, and drifters). Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, diesel, hydraulic, battery electric, and electrical systems; replace or adjust components to restore equipment performance. Work directly at customer sites with a safety-first approach. Eligible for relocation; travel up to 40-60% and normal shift flexibility (5x2, 7x7 or 14x14—discussed during recruitment). Must have 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal asset), valid Class G licence, and proven experience with underground mining equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification
- Red Seal is an asset
- Proven experience with underground mining equipment
- Experience with Montabert drifters, battery electric mining equipment an asset
- Valid Class G drivers’ licence
- Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
- No restrictions for accessing any mine site
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage shifting priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
