Job Summary
Conduct utility excavation by safely exposing water, sewer, and drain lines using hand digging and equipment. Operate mini-excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and trenchers for utility access while digging accurate, safe trenches for repair and replacement projects. Support plumbing crews with pipe replacement, spot repairs, and underground service work. Maintain equipment, jobsite cleanliness, and documentation while following trenching, shoring, and confined-space procedures. Provide respectful communication with homeowners. Requires 1+ year utility-focused excavation experience, heavy equipment operation skills, and ability to work in all weather conditions. Posted pay rate is $20.00 to $30.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year utility‐focused excavation experience
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all conditions
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn underground utility work
- Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces
- Underground utility excavation experience — Water, sewer, drainage, or service‐line exposure
- Precision digging around live utilities
- Heavy equipment operation — mini‐excavators, backhoes, skid steers
- Knowledge of utility locating, shoring, and trench safety standards
