Job Summary
The Undergraduate Nursing Employee supports safe, patient- and family-centered care under the direction of an RN or RPN in Moose Jaw, SK. Responsibilities include assessment support, implementation of care plans, monitoring patient status, and effective communication with the health care team. The role operates within the scope of education preparation and organizational policies, seeking guidance as patient needs exceed authorized responsibilities. Requires completion of specified RN/RPN nursing education program stages, CPR certification, and demonstrated clinical competencies. This is a full-time temporary position in the General Medical Nursing Unit, with shifts including days, evenings, and weekends, under a SEIU-affiliated facility.
Required Qualifications
- Min 600 hrs of clinical practice in an approved RN/RPN Nursing education program
- Successful completion of third yr of an approved RN Nursing education program or
- Currently in final year of an after-degree RN Nursing education program or
- Successful completion of second yr of an approved RPN Nursing education program
- Current Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate

- Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, Advocate on behalf of patient and families, Ability to work with people with professionalism and respect, Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and openness to working w/ diverse populations, Communicates effectively with patients, families and other health professionals, Ability to document accurately in electronic health records, Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
- As per Article 11.03 c) Applicants without the required or equivalent qualifications for this classification shall be considered for this position if they have the following qualification(s): Applicants currently enrolled in third year of an approved RN Nursing Program, or second year of the RPN program with completion date by July 3, 2026.
