Job Summary
Carry out analytical activities to deliver new respiratory products to clinical studies and commercialisation, including executing experiments for analytical methods, formulations, and processes. Perform analyses related to clinical supplies, stability, and process scale-up, while processing data to highlight aberrant results for supervisor investigation. Maintain laboratory documentation per good documentation practices and troubleshoot instrumentation as needed. Contribute to project delivery by completing tasks such as laboratory housekeeping, ordering, and shipping samples. This 12-month undergraduate industrial placement within the Global Respiratory Group offers mentored training for students in chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences to develop skills in effective communication and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- Must be registered on an undergraduate chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences related degree program
- Must have completed at least 2 years of study
- Must not have graduated at the start of the placement
- Must be familiar with the basic principles of analytical chemistry
- Must possess good IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Must be able to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Must be able to organise tasks allocated by supervisor and plan own work to consistently achieve output of high-quality results in a timely manner, following established analytical methods and operating procedures
- Must have enthusiasm to work in a lab-based role
- Must have good written and oral communication
Desired Qualifications
- Has knowledge and/or experience of modern instrumental methods of analysis, e.g., particle sizing, FT-IR, SEM and thermal analysis techniques
- Experience or knowledge in development and testing of Inhalation Products
- Experience or knowledge of physical properties testing, e.g., particle size, surface area, amorphous content
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and best practice
- Knowledge of cGMP
