Job Summary
Conduct basic installations, disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers, including video, HSD, and home phone services. Perform troubleshooting from the tap to customer devices and install, splice, repair, and maintain aerial, buried, and underground fiber optic and copper cable. Execute new connects, reconnects, upgrades, downgrades, and outlet installations while ensuring compliance with OSHA, FCC, NEC, and NESC regulations. Monitor system drops and leakage, record work orders, and educate customers on service usage. This role requires a valid driver's license, DOT compliance, and residence within 60 minutes of the St George, UT warehouse. Schedule runs Tuesday through Saturday, 8am-5pm, with mandatory on-call rotation and potential overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines
- Requires being available for on-call/standby responsibilities
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
- Upon hire, must successfully pass all components of the Safety Course curriculum
- Ability to maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements in relation to operating vehicles with a combined GVRW (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of >10,000 lbs
- Reliable and responsible, with a strong work ethic dedicated to a team
- Practical knowledge/experience with computer applications
- Familiarity with company products and services
- Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated customer service and sales skills
- Effective communications skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to dig, lift and climb
- Successful completion of the SCTE Broadband Premise Install test within the first 3 months of employment
- Reside within a 60-minute driving distance from the St George, UT warehouse
