Job Summary
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain telecommunications equipment, including telephone systems, video/CATV/DBS, fiber optics, and customer premise equipment. Diagnose defective cable using test equipment, locate buried and aerial facilities, and perform fault acceptance tests on newly constructed networks. Respond to dispatches for trouble tickets, maintain inventory, and complete all related paperwork and timesheets. Provide proactive customer service while educating clients on TDS products and services. This role requires 50% travel in 2-week increments and residence within 60 minutes of the Anderson, CA warehouse. Candidates must hold a valid driver's license, pass a background check, and complete safety training. TDS Telecom delivers high-speed internet and TV services to over 1 million connections nationwide.
Required Qualifications
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Must follow the TDS attendance guidelines
- Requires being available for on-call/standby responsibilities
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed
- Upon hire, must successfully pass all components of the Safety Course curriculum
- Ability to maintain DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements in relation to operating vehicles with a combined GVRW (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of >10,000 lbs
- A+ certification

- Practical knowledge/experience with computer applications including (but not limited to): Databases, Trouble/Repair/Dispatch Systems, Plant Record Systems, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
- Ability to work and make decisions independently with little or no supervision
