Job Summary
Determine client requirements and develop specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents. Review vendor drawings for major components, evaluate design changes, and make recommendations. Consult with construction personnel regarding design constructability, sequencing, and scheduling. Ensure production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Provide conceptual design input for preliminary project estimates. Occasionally conduct field trips to operating plants or construction sites. May coordinate and oversee lower-level engineers and specialists. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, PE registration, and 7+ years of experience. Hybrid work schedule available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, or equivalent
- Registration as a licensed professional engineer
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
- Senior level of Civil/Structural Engineering
- Extensive experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, managers, designers and engineers
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
