Job Summary
Analyze client requirements and design process and plant facilities, developing process engineering requirements for design, control, and operation. Prepare calculations and design basis for equipment specifications, creating deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams, Equipment Datasheets, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and Process Specification for Instruments. Coordinate and review group activities as a group leader over less experienced engineers, participating in process safety reviews and communicating designs to clients and other disciplines. Occasional field trips to operating plants or construction sites may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Normally requires at least a four-year degree in Chemical Engineering
- Requires a minimum of ten (10) years experience in Process/Design Engineering or related functional area
- Has proficiency in utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering design tools
- Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents
- Ability to correspond with clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
- Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups and/or boards of directors
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

Desired Qualifications
- Registration as a licensed professional engineer is preferred
