Job Summary
Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline powered vehicles, school buses, and equipment to ensure road worthiness and extend service life. Perform daily inspections for safety compromises, troubleshoot breakdowns on-site, and execute preventive maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements. Replace damaged components including mirrors, glass, and brakes while utilizing diagnostic tools to analyze electrical and mechanical systems. Conduct road tests to verify repair effectiveness and perform final inspections before vehicle release. Maintain accurate work order records and adhere to productivity standards. Requires a valid CDL Class B license with passenger endorsement and School Bus Inspector certificate.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two (2) years basic to intermediate progressively skilled automotive repair experience
- Majority of experience in service and repair of diesel powered automotive vehicles and equipment
- Valid CDL class B license with passenger endorsement
- Valid School Bus Inspector certificate
