Job Summary
Diagnose and analyze student progress to provide evidence-based speech-language therapy services, including direct instruction, consultation, and pull-out interventions. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and parents to develop Individual Education Plans, set communication goals, and implement targeted interventions for students with speech and language disorders. Maintain accurate records, conduct evaluations, and communicate assessment results to educational staff and families while adhering to state and federal guidelines. Manage classroom equipment and participate in school improvement programs to support student achievement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or doctoral degree in Speech/Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a 2-year non-renewable Temporary Certificate in Speech-Language Impaired (Grades K-12) while completing requirements for the 5-year Professional Certificate
- Speech-Language Impaired Certificate (Grades K-12) from the Florida State Department of Education
- Florida Department of Health State Licensure in Speech/Language Pathology
- Maintain educational certification and/or professional licensure
- Manifest a professional code of ethics and values
- Follow Florida State Eligibility Criteria for Eligibility for Speech-Language Impaired Program
- Follow State Board of Education Rules
- Ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (l2-20 pounds)
- Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds
- Ability to perceive and discriminate sounds
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence or eligible for such as prescribed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
