Job Summary
Evaluate parts, materials, manufacturing processes, and test methods through research and laboratory testing to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with engineering specifications. Perform failure analysis on components to identify root causes and implement corrective actions that reduce recurring failures. Develop and execute test plans, document procedures, analyze results, and provide technical recommendations while coordinating issue resolution with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Propose revisions to engineering procedures and assess suitability of processes for production applications. Final position level and pay will be based on experience. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Associate degree (Technical AA) in Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical discipline
- Typically 3+ years of related engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, quality, or materials experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered (e.g., Bachelor's degree with 1+ year of experience or 5+ years of related experience)
- Experience supporting materials evaluation, product testing, failure analysis, or manufacturing process validation
- Ability to develop test plans, analyze engineering data, identify root causes, and prepare technical documentation
- Familiarity with engineering specifications, testing methodologies, and quality standards
- Proficiency using computers and standard business software applications
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or industrial engineering environments
- Knowledge of materials engineering, product reliability, quality engineering, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working with suppliers and customers to resolve technical or manufacturing issues
