Job Summary

Provide skilled nursing care and coordinate patient support under RN supervision for pediatric clients with feeding tubes and medication administration needs. Assess patient conditions, document all activities and nursing actions in electronic tablets, and implement updated care plans while maintaining infection control standards. Educate families on disease processes and self-care techniques, monitor for changes requiring intervention, and ensure compliance with state regulations and OSHA protocols. This role requires an active LPN/LVN license, current CPR certification, and reliable transportation, with flexible day or night shift availability in Kyle. Aveanna delivers compassionate homecare to children and adults as a national leader in the field.

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered license (LPN/LVN) in the state in which the clinician will practice
  • Compact licenses must be transferred to your state of residence within 90 days
  • Current CPR certification (with hands-on component)
  • TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
  • Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch
  • Must be able to work Days/Nights shifts (6A to 6P or 6P to 6A)
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
  • One (1) year of pediatrics experience (South Carolina specific)
  • One (1) year of experience required working under current nursing license (California specific)
  • One (1) year of experience required working as a licensed nurse (Louisiana specific)

Desired Qualifications

  • Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
  • Six (6) months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting
  • Home health experience
