Job Summary
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order, patrol industrial or commercial sites to prevent safety hazards, and respond to emergencies while investigating disturbances. Operate security systems, provide escort services for occupants, answer telephone calls, and enforce facility policies. Prepare incident reports and secure designated areas. This part-time role requires weekends from 0600-1800 and a current guard license. Officers must clear metal detectors and store personal items in assigned lockers during shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current guard license
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Flexible to work non-scheduled hours when needed
- Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
- May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have customer service experience
- 18 years old or older
- Must be able to clear metal detectors when entering and exiting the facility
- Cell phones and metal items are not permitted on officers while on duty and must be stored in their assigned lockers until break periods outside of the secured area
- Must be reliable
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must uphold ethical behavior
