Job Summary
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and visitors to guard against theft, while circulating among patrons to preserve order and protect property. Patrol and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions. Operate security systems, dispatch responses, and provide escort services for occupants as requested. Answer telephone calls, take messages, and respond to emergencies or investigate disturbances. Secure designated areas, enforce facility policies, and investigate incidents to prepare reports. Work non-scheduled hours including weekends and shifts, clearing metal detectors and storing personal items during duty. Requires a current guard license, high school diploma, and customer service experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current guard license
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Flexible to work non-scheduled hours when needed
- Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
- May be exposed to high levels of noise or variations in weather and temperature
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have customer service experience
- 18 years old or older
- Must be able to clear metal detectors when entering and exiting the facility
- Cell phones and metal items are not permitted on officers while on duty and must be stored in their assigned lockers until break periods outside of the secured area
- High School Diploma
