Job Summary
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security. Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order, patrol industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, and enforce rules and regulations. Escort individuals to specified locations or provide personal protection as needed. Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports, investigate incidents, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance. Provide courteous assistance to customers, employees, and visitors while monitoring for irregular activity. Requires a valid Security Guard License, First Aid/CPR certification, and one year of experience. Available for all shifts including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Security Guard License (DCJS)
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- One (1) year of experience as a security officer
- Open availability to work all shifts and schedules
- Reliable transportation
- Good communications skills
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Ability to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis
- Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
- Reliable, positive attitude, and ethical behavior
- Unarmed Security License
- CPR Certification
- Driver's License
