Job Summary
Conduct foot patrols and monitor site conditions to identify security concerns or safety hazards. Respond to alarms by notifying police or fire departments for fires or unauthorized persons, and verbally warn violators of rule infractions. Allow authorized access while monitoring entry points and enforce property removal to deter theft. Investigate accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities by preparing detailed incident reports. Communicate site status via TrackTik Software using smartphones, tablets, or computers. Maintain professional demeanors when assisting customers, employees, and visitors. Perform duties in indoor spaces, outdoor parking areas, and landscapes with temperatures ranging from moderate to extreme. Requires standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 25 lbs periodically, and a valid California Guard Card.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Current State of California Guard Card
- Current California Driver's License with No DMV points
- At least 18 Years Old
- Minimum one (1)-year Unarmed Security Officer experience
- Willingness to work flexible work schedules
- Valid High School Diploma, foreign equivalent or earned GED Certificate
- Own reliable transportation
- Valid Discharge Form DD214 (for prior Military Experience)
- Ability to hear conversation clearly at normal-voice level
- Fluent ability to speak and understand both conversational and written English
- Ability to pass Job Physical examination
- Sufficient skills to operate cellphone and/or portable two-way radio
- Proven ability to interact cordially and communicate with the Public
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Active listening skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
- Ability to identify escalating conditions and quickly mitigate same
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. periodically
