Job Summary
As an Unarmed Security Guard, you will provide a visible security presence and maintain a safe environment across government, corporate, retail, or commercial settings. Responsibilities include conducting foot patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarms, controlling entry/egress, observing and reporting suspicious activity, and responding to safety or security concerns; complete detailed incident reports and logs; assist with basic first aid; liaise with local law enforcement when necessary; uphold SSC’s G.E.T. Principles (Greet, Engage, and Thank) to deliver professional customer service; require a high school diploma or GED and relevant state license, plus one year of security experience; strong verbal/written communication, ability to follow post orders, and proficient basic computer skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain professionalism under pressure; minimum age 18 and legal ability to work in the United States; expectation of pre-employment screenings and potential DD214 documentation for veterans.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must possess or be able to obtain a State Unarmed Security Guard License, if required by state or local law
- Must pass applicable state licensing tests if operating a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
- Verifiable work history required
- One (1) year of security experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow post orders and company procedures
- Proficient basic computer skills (e.g., report writing, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions
- High attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or higher if required by state law)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to operate radios, telephones, and monitoring equipment
- Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and good judgment
- Must be personable, approachable, and capable of building rapport with the public
- Subject to drug screening, background check, and other pre-employment requirements as permitted by law
- Veterans may be required to provide a DD214 upon offer of employment
