Job Summary
Unarmed Security Guard responsible for providing a visible security presence and maintaining a safe and secure environment across government, corporate, retail, or commercial settings. Primary duties include conducting foot patrols, monitoring CCTV/alarms/access control, observing and reporting suspicious activity, controlling entry/egress, and responding to safety or security concerns. Prepare detailed written reports, coordinate with law enforcement when needed, and support SSC’s G.E.T. Principles (Greet, Engage, and Thank) to ensure a positive experience for customers and staff. Requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to obtain a state unarmed security license (where required), and one year of security experience. Strong communication, post-order adherence, incident reporting, and the ability to work under varying conditions are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred or required
- Must possess or be able to obtain a State Unarmed Security Guard License, if required by state or local law
- Must pass applicable state licensing tests if operating a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
- One year of security experience
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow post orders and company procedures
- Proficient basic computer skills (e.g., report writing, Microsoft Office)
- Ability to assess situations quickly and make sound decisions
- High attention to detail and strong observational skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to operate radios, telephones, and monitoring equipment
- Subject to drug screening, background check, and other pre-employment requirements as permitted by law
- Veterans may be required to provide a DD214 upon offer of employment
