Job Summary
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned parking areas and surrounding property to prevent and deter crime. Monitor the premises for hazards or suspicious activity, perform access control procedures, and operate emergency equipment when necessary. Document daily activities, complete reports, and investigate breaches of property while maintaining a clean driving record and standing for long periods. This unarmed security role requires a valid driver's license, a clean criminal background, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies. Candidates must meet state requirements for an Oregon Security Guard license and work flexible shifts including weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Clean criminal background
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Reliable transportation
- Active cell phone
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability including weekends if needed
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform routine patrols
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to respond quickly in emergencies
- Ability to read and interpret written information under a variety of circumstances
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle while performing duties
- Ability to detect and identify sounds related to alarms, emergencies, or persons in distress despite background noise
- Ability to walk, run, stand, climb, and sit during duties
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if required
- Must be able to make quick decisions during emergencies
- Must meet state requirements to obtain and maintain the required Oregon Security Guard license
- High School diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement, military, or 1 year of security experience is a plus
