Job Summary
Conduct regular and random patrols of multiple premises while preventing and deterring crime. Report security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences and perform control procedures when necessary. Operate emergency equipment, document nightly operations, and file weekly reports. Investigate breaches of property and maintain excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills. Work a flexible roster seven days a week, standing for long periods and performing routine foot patrols. Drive a motor vehicle if required and detect alarm signals or persons in distress amidst distracting noise. Maintain a clean criminal background, pass a drug screen, and hold a valid state security license.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Clean criminal background
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Reliable transport
- Active cellphone
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform routine foot patrols
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. waist high
- Ability to meet the physical and mental requirements of the state(s) to be licensed
- Ability to obtain the status of license required for the position
- Ability to work as a team member and solo
- Willingness and ability to work to a flexible roster, 7 days a week
- Must have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and quickly in cases of emergency
- Ability to read and interpret written information under a variety of circumstances
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle in the course of his/her duties if required
- Ability to detect and identify sounds relevant to fires, floods, alarm signals, and persons in distress
