Job Summary
The M4C Project Officer will support the National Project Coordinator and the Market for Change Team in implementing project activities, monitoring progress, and reporting. Responsibilities include providing technical input for program design and proposals, assisting with training and capacity-building activities, supporting data collection and monitoring/reports, coordinating procurement and partnerships, providing secretariat support to Project Working Committee and Project Management Committee meetings, handling administrative tasks (including onboarding of consultants), and contributing to the annual workplan and budget. The role involves collaboration with the M4C project in Vanuatu, the Regional Team, and the operations team in Fiji, as well as coordinating with partners and donors.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Political or Social Science, Economics, International Development Studies, Gender/Women's Studies is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
- At least 1 year (with Master’s Degree) or a minimum of three (3) years (with Bachelor’s Degree) of progressively relevant experience at the national or international level in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required.
- Experience in the Women Economic Empowerment space is desirable.
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable.
- Previous experience working in the UN system is an asset.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, and experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.
- Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
- Familiarity with Pacific countries and cultures, especially in Vanuatu.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of the local language in the duty station is an asset.
