Job Summary
The gender audit will assess safety, accessibility and inclusivity of Port Vila market and CBD for women, girls, and marginalized groups; it will use desk reviews, KIIs with government and partners, FGDs with women and market vendors, and site observations to identify risks and opportunities to strengthen gender-responsive reconstruction. Deliverables include a phased process from inception to final gender audit report and action plan, with a focus on survivor-centered research and stakeholder engagement. The National Assistant Consultant will lead and support data collection, analysis, and reporting, coordinate with UN Women’s EVAWG team and local government counterparts, and ensure ethical standards throughout the assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in qualitative research (KIIs/FGDs)
- Facilitation of KIIs and FGDs with women and girls and/or marginalized groups
- survivor-centered and ethical data collection principles
- Ability to manage and organize data systematically
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration with government counterparts, civil society and market vendors
- English language proficiency (documentation and reports)
- Ability to work under survivor-centered standards and ethics in data collection
- Knowledge of gender equality, women’s safety, or ending violence against women and girls in Pacific contexts
