Job Summary
UN Representative, Program and Outreach at QUNO New York combines senior program leadership with outreach to UN diplomats and Quaker communities. The role leads development and implementation of QUNO program plans, oversees the QUNO Program Assistant program, and coordinates outreach across Quaker Meetings, schools, and AFSC/FWCC collaboration. Responsibilities include representing Quakers at the UN, building relationships with UN missions and NGOs, liaising with QUNO Geneva and AFSC, seeking program funding, recruitment and supervision of staff, content creation for communications, fundraising participation, and ensuring program monitoring and evaluation. The position requires a Master’s degree in related fields, seven years of nonprofit program experience, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, comfort with travel and flexible hours, and commitment to Quaker values and inclusive approaches.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in international affairs, public policy, international law, non-profit administration, or related field required
- Minimum seven years experience in non profit administration and program implementation required
- Demonstrated program experience in a related field (e.g. international affairs, peacebuilding and conflict resolution, international humanitarian assistance and development, public policy and diplomacy)
- Knowledge of the UN system and international diplomacy
- Prior experience with interactive and experiential learning approaches preferred
- Experience working in an international conflict setting preferred
- Commitment to values-based policy or social change work
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Familiarity with consultative decision-making processes and adaptability to changing priorities
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and to travel, as required
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team environment
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology
- Ability to work under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
- Understanding of AFSC values and commitments
- Respect for cultural, ethnic, racial, gender, religious diversity
