Job Summary
Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures using high-frequency sound waves to capture images of internal tissues for diagnosing conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy, and cancer. Supervise and mentor ultrasound personnel while maintaining and verifying the operational status of equipment prior to daily use. Provide direct patient care by assessing conditions, positioning patients, preparing for procedures, and monitoring vital signs. Summarize, document, and present findings to physicians, ensuring accurate records and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requires ACR-accredited certification in Abdomen, Obstetrics, or Vascular within one year of hire, along with BLS certification. Night shift full-time position at Adventist Health Bakersfield.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/certificate from an Ultrasound college/school
- ACR Accredited Sites: All sonographers must be certified and currently registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in Abdomen (AB), Obstetrics (OB) or Vascular (RVT); or Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI-RVS); or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography (S) or (VS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) or ARRT-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) or ARRT-Sonography (ARRT-S)
