Job Summary
Perform ultrasound scanning, prepare patients for examinations, and explain procedures while differentiating artifacts from normal and pathological processes. Transfer patients to and from the ultrasound table using proper safety techniques, assist physicians during interventional procedures, and correlate clinical history with test results. Prepare studies for radiologist reading utilizing PACS, answer phones, manage appointments, and transport patients to the floor. Dispose of biomedical waste according to CDC and OSHA guidelines and maintain cleanliness of examining rooms and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school for Ultrasound Technology
- ARDMS (OB, AB, or RVT) OR CCI (RVS)
- Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Manual dexterity for manipulating function of equipment
- Communicate with patients and other Health professionals
- Understand written and verbal instructions
- Proficient in the use of MediTech, PACS
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of GE Ultrasound unit preferred
- Breast Registry Ezpereince Preferred
