Job Summary
Perform the full spectrum of ultrasound exams including abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN across all three trimesters, small parts, and vascular studies while ensuring every scan meets the highest clinical standards. Optimize images for diagnostic completeness, review your own work before it reaches the radiologist, and maintain accurate, real-time documentation in PACS, RIS, and EMR systems. Manage your own workflow in a high-volume outpatient environment, keeping the exam area stocked and clean without needing constant direction. Provide clear explanations of procedures and genuine care to patients, while mentoring students and contributing to quality assurance and continuing education efforts.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or applicable specialty
- Registry-eligible with a clear path to certification
- Completed accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Current BLS certification
- Valid state licensure current (where required)
- Proficiency in ultrasound equipment and PACS, RIS, and EMR systems
- Strong image optimization and multi-specialty scanning protocol knowledge
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume outpatient environment
- Strong communication skills with patients, radiologists, and clinical staff
- Commitment to QA participation and ongoing professional development
- Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of drug and background screening
- Some positions will require a favorable driving record
