Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations following department protocols to produce high-quality imaging for radiologist interpretation. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity and procedure orders, ensuring patient safety and comfort, operating ultrasound equipment safely, documenting procedures and patient information in the EHR/PACS, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, monitoring imaging material supplies, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires knowledge of ultrasound techniques, anatomy and pathology relevant to diagnostic sonography, strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while upholding patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years of clinical experience as an Ultrasound Technologist required
- 2-4 years of clinical experience as an Ultrasound Technologist preferred
- Licenses and Certifications (S) - ARDMS or ARRT - Sonography certification or registry eligible required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support obtained within the 7 days of employment required
