Job Summary
Perform all essential functions of a Registered Sonographer by evaluating sonographic examinations, obtaining clinical histories, and conducting physical assessments to determine testing protocols. Provide technical interpretations of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in medical diagnoses. Requires graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program or ARDMS certification, with National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer status required within one year of hire. Must hold a National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire. Includes 9 months of Ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen and OB/Gyn, with preferred experience in Breast and Vascular. Schedule is per diem, day shift, onsite at Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage, AK.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program
- Certification with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 9 months Ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen, OB/Gyn including clinical rotation
- Performs all the essential functions of the Registered Sonographer
- Performs and evaluates sonographic examinations
- Obtains clinical history and performs a physical assessment of the patient's condition to determine appropriate testing protocol
- Provides a technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
