Job Summary
Perform and evaluate sonographic examinations, obtaining clinical histories and physical assessments to determine appropriate testing protocols. Provide technical interpretations of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering medical diagnoses. Maintain certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and complete required BLS training within 30 days of hire. Work per diem day shifts at the Providence Imaging Center in Anchorage, AK, with hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Diagnostic Sonography Program
- Certification with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- National Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 9 months Ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen
- 9 months Ultrasound coursework experience in OB/Gyn
- Clinical rotation in Abdomen
- Clinical rotation in OB/Gyn
- Performs all the essential functions of the Registered Sonographer
- Performs and evaluates sonographic examinations
- Obtains clinical history
- Performs a physical assessment of the patient's condition
- Provides a technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data
- Aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis
