Job Summary
Operate radiologic equipment to obtain diagnostic images, select appropriate imaging techniques, and enter patient data into the EMR/PACS system. Deliver quality exams consistently while adhering to established radiographic procedures and hospital policies. Utilize scheduling and billing routines within the EMR system to accurately manage patient exams. Train and supervise other employees on proper equipment usage and follow department policies with annual reviews. Comply with Service Excellence and customer satisfaction initiatives while maintaining high communication standards with patients and staff. Requires RDMS certification, ARRT registration, and CPR skills. 8-hour shifts with a minimum of one day per week.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of approved Radiologic Technologist Program
- RDMS required
- License from IEMA
- CPR
- Registration with ARRT with RT credentials
- Must be able to educate patients or family members clearly and all ages and social backgrounds
- Must have a high level of communication skills with patients, physicians, fellow employees and staff, both face to face and on the phone or zoom
- Must be able to adapt standard radiographic procedures to fit circumstances
- Must be able to perform CPR 100% of the time but rarely required
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
- Must be able to perform extensive reaching, twisting, bending, standing and walking; carrying, pushing pulling and lifting up to 50lbs without assistance - all over 67% of the day
- Must be able to operate equipment safely and ensure in safe operating order
- Must be able to train and supervisor other employees in using equipment properly
- Must follow policies and procedures in the department
- 8 hour shift
- minimum 1 day per week
Desired Qualifications
- prefer graduate of approved Post Primary Radiologic Program
- RVT, RDCS is preferred
- Prefer a minimum of one year experience
