Job Summary
Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures under physician direction, producing images of internal body tissues to diagnose and monitor conditions such as heart disease, pregnancy and cancer. Supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel; maintains equipment; provides direct patient care, including assessing patient condition, preparing patients and monitoring vital signs. Ensures accurate records and compliance with HIPAA, and verifies equipment status daily. Requires Diploma/certificate from an ultrasound program and active certification/registration (ARDMS/CCI/ARRT) with BLS.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/certificate from an Ultrasound college/school: Required
- ARDMS/CCI ARRt/VS or ARRT-S: Required
- BLS certification: Required
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) or ARRT-Vascular Sonography (ARRT-VS) or ARRT-Sonography (ARRT-S): Required
- HIPAA/privacy compliance knowledge
- Vaccinations as condition of employment
- E-Verify participation
- Vaccination requirements for associates
- All sonographers must be certified and currently registered by ARDMS/CCI/ARRT within one year of hire: Required in CA and HI
