Job Summary
Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation. Execute exams per department protocol, review images for quality and accuracy, and complete studies within acceptable time limits. Maintain ARDMS registration and modality-specific competency, assist and instruct students and Radiology Techs on protocols and positioning, and provide patient education while ensuring comfort. Operate equipment and information systems to generate quality images, keep accurate records of procedures and adverse reactions, and follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, and equipment failure reporting. Schedule is full-time (40 hours), Monday through Friday, 8a-5p.
Required Qualifications
- Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular)
- Health Services BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
- 1 or more years of experience
