Ultrasound Technologist

Job Summary
Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infection control, sterilization, and patient safety protocols; review patient medical history, verify physician orders, ensure completeness and medical necessity of the examination; inspect images for quality and proper patient identifiers; assist with training of new technologists and residents; operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and perform quality control; communicate with patients appropriately; apply independent judgment to capture accurate anatomical findings; adapt to variable schedules; report equipment malfunctions; maintain supplies; utilize EPIC and SYNAPSE for data entry and reporting; ensure images are transmitted to PACS; document exam delays in EPIC Tech Notes; participate in department meetings; provide preliminary report for interpretation by Radiologist; ensure compliance with safety and departmental procedures; pursue continuous improvement in imaging quality and patient care.
Required Qualifications
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certified
- Certification in Abdomen or OB/GYN required
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Education Graduate of an AMA Accredited Educational Program for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or equivalent
