Job Summary
Conduct abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, and other specialized ultrasound scans according to physician orders and departmental protocols. Prepare and position patients, explain procedures, obtain history, and ensure proper positioning for accurate imaging. Operate ultrasound equipment to adjust settings, capture images, and verify functionality. Evaluate image quality for diagnostic adequacy, review images for anatomical structures or abnormalities, and document procedures, patient data, and preliminary impressions in the EMR. Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to support patient care while maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality and infection control standards. Manage patient schedules, prepare exam rooms, and assist with department workflow. Requires ARDMS certification (or eligibility within 12 months) with Abdomen, OB/GYN, and RVT credentials. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles
- Excellent communication and patient‐care skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- ARDMS certification
- Eligibility to be acquired within 12 months of hire
- Abdomen certification
- OB/GYN certification
- RVT certification
