Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist II performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and calibrates/operates ultrasound equipment, processes images, and coordinates patient care. Will focus on infant, children, and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. Maintains patient records, tracks inventory, orders supplies, and maintains equipment. Must communicate effectively with families to support Family Centered Care. Role requires one year of outpatient or acute care ultrasound experience with at least six months in a pediatric setting; ARDMS registration and BLS are preferred/required. The position is based at CHOC's main campus in Orange, CA and operates in an evening shift (10 hours). The candidate should be able to relate professionally with others, work under pressure, multitask, and be a team player; pediatric-focused imaging with potential for pediatric inpatient experience is noted as preferred. Advantaged by advanced pediatric certifications (Pediatrics RVT) are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year of outpatient and/or acute care Ultrasound Technologist experience with six (6) months in a pediatric setting
- Graduate from an approved education program in Sonography
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in one or more specialties
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
