Job Summary
Execute routine and specialized sonographic procedures across all patient types, selecting accurate equipment and technical factors based on individual needs. Verify exam protocols and patient identity, then obtain history, complete detailed worksheets, and provide patient education to support physical and psychological requirements. Prioritize patient flow, coordinate with care teams, and distribute final images to the PACS system while documenting all activities in electronic health records. Maintain supplies and inventory, perform quality control on equipment, and ensure exam rooms are properly prepared and disinfected according to infection prevention standards. Participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives, student and employee training, and adhere to ARRT ethics and Joint Commission compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Vocational/Technical Diploma Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program
- certification in Diagnostic Sonography by ARDMS or AART
- 1-2 years
- RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer RDMS
- RVT certification
- BLS - Basic Life Support Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree Associate‘s degree in health sciences or related field
- RDMS-V - Registered Diagnostic Med Sonographer-Vascular RDMS certification
- additional RVT certification within a year
