Job Summary
Execute diagnostic ultrasound examinations including routine echocardiographic, electrocardiographic, and 2D/3D/4D/M-Mode tracings per physician orders and departmental policies. Communicate with patients and families to support test execution, assist in equipment maintenance and supply ordering, and manage documentation, storage, and retrieval of imaging records and billing reports. Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and SOPs. Requires SPI certification, RDMS or RVT within six months, and Pediatric Sonography certification within 12 months.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Sonography Principles and Instrumentation (SPI) Examination
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within six months of employment
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) obtained within six months of employment
- Pediatric Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS-PS) must be obtained within 12 months of start date
Desired Qualifications
- Some administrative support experience (e.g., electronic data entry, records management, word processing, spreadsheet)
- Experience with medical terminology
