Job Summary
Provide quality patient care while producing ultrasound images and patterns used for diagnosis and treatment. Confirm patient identity using two identifiers, review exam orders and clinical history, and prepare and clean equipment and rooms. Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality, and collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Perform ultrasound exams, assist with training staff and students, and operate equipment while following protocols. Support and participate in departmental research, QA, and improvement projects, and conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required. Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Diagnostic Imaging certificate/diploma or Trade/Technical/Vocational Diploma
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification
- Certified Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Sonography [R.T.(S)(ARRT)]
- 0-1 year Ultrasound Technologist experience
- Comprehensive understanding of computer operations relating to Imaging, Electronic Health Records, Reporting Systems, PACS, and all Hospital Information Systems that integrate with the department, relating to patient information and management
- Analytical abilities necessary to effectively utilize advanced knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and anatomy
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to operational needs
