Job Summary
Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce images for licensed independent practitioners, including vascular exams such as venous duplex scans. Evaluate patients, verify identification, and explain procedures while ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety during exams. Document impressions, relay findings to physicians, and obtain necessary images demonstrating normal and pathological findings across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Maintain clinical competency, participate in performance improvement projects, and assist in department audits. Perform high-level disinfection of probes per joint commission standards and provide direct patient care in a compassionate manner.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ultrasonography program
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry eligible
- Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible
- Certification/Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound Technology by one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech
Desired Qualifications
- Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound
- Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound Technology by one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (must obtain within 2 years)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS)
