Job Summary
Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment to conduct diagnostic scanning procedures, assisting radiologists with ultrasound-guided biopsies and vascular procedures. Recognize and record anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment, write reports based on scan results, and alert medical staff of abnormalities requiring immediate attention. Properly care for sonography equipment, report failures, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and sensitivity to physical and psychological needs. Complete a one-week training period upon start date.
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS Certification
- CPR/ BLS Certification
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to communicate with radiologists and other healthcare providers about images and patient care
- Maintain sensitivity to physical and psychological needs of patients
- Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA guidelines
- A one-week training period is required upon start date
