Job Summary
Ultrasound Technologist (Echo Tech) performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations including echocardiography, vascular and general ultrasound. Responsibilities include selecting proper transducers and adjusting equipment, explaining procedures to patients, entering test data, generating detailed preliminary reports, communicating urgent findings, and assisting with ultrasound-guided biopsies or invasive procedures. Maintains equipment per manufacturer standards, adheres to safety protocols with PPE, and travels to different office locations as needed. Must hold current BLS and RDCS/RCS certification to perform echocardiograms; registration in the specific ultrasound modality performed is required. Education preferred includes a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field; minimum 6 months post-internship experience is required with 2 years post-internship experience preferred. Ability to travel locally/regionally up to 40% and lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.**,
Required Qualifications
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support required
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) required to perform Echo cardiograms
- Must be registered in specific ultrasound modality performed (e.g., vascular, general)
- Graduate of an accredited school in Ultrasound Technology required
- Minimum of 6 months of related work experience post internship/externship required
- BLS within first 90 days of employment
