Job Summary
Perform ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce images for licensed practitioners, including vascular exams as needed. Evaluate patients, verify identification, and explain procedures while ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety during exams. Document impressions, obtain images demonstrating normal and pathological findings, and relay results to physicians. Maintain clinical competency across newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Participate in performance improvement projects, assist with federal and state audits, and educate students or orient new staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ultrasonography program
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) registry eligible
- Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registry eligible
- Certification/Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Advanced modality registration in Ultrasound Technology by one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Desired Qualifications
- Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound
- 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS)
- Must become proficient in recognizing cross-sectional anatomy and understanding of related technology
- Demonstrates favorable guest relations and continues to promote values of the hospital in daily work performance
- Flexible and able to adapt to change
- Ethical relationships and practices required of a technologist
- Create and maintain a good working relationships
- Receive constructive feedback
