Job Summary
Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic sonography using nonionizing high-frequency sound waves to generate images for physician interpretation. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history, preparing equipment, selecting settings, explaining procedures, positioning patients for optimal views, applying gel, operating ultrasound equipment, collecting echoes, and producing preliminary reports. Requires RDMS certification, CPR, and a minimum of one year of experience as an Ultrasonographer; strong focus on safety, infection control, and collaboration with physicians.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in sonography from an accredited school
- RDMS Certification
- CPR certification
- Minimum of one year of experience as a certified Ultrasonographer
- Ability to operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment
- Ability to interpret instructions and documentation
