Job Summary
Greet patients, confirm identification, and explain procedures while preparing trays, needles, and contrast media for exams. Perform ultrasound techniques across vascular, abdominal, breast, obstetric, and gynecological areas, positioning patients and operating equipment as directed. Utilize hospital computer systems to retrieve information, review images, verify data, and perform order entry. Maintain examination records, stock supplies, report equipment malfunctions, and consult with others to gather clinical history. Schedule cases, participate in community outreach screenings, and perform mobile vascular studies. Available for emergency call on a rotational basis. Must be an RDMS registered in OB/GYN or abdominal specialties with CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must be RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Sonographer) registered in one or more sub-specialties
- Sub-specialties include OB/GYN and/or abdominal
- Must be a graduate of a radiologic or ultrasonography program
- Must be certified in CPR
- Ability to utilize hospital computer systems (HIS/RIS/PACS) to retrieve information, review images, verify data, and perform order entry
- Ability to communicate and understand oral and written communication
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, physicians, co‐workers and patients
