Job Summary

Conduct ultrasounds for surgical and non-surgical patients up to 24 weeks gestation, including intraoperative guidance for IUD removal, pregnancy termination, and intramniotic digoxin administration. Perform basic lab work, process specimens, and triage abnormal results. Assist providers during procedures by obtaining vital signs, connecting to monitoring equipment, and transporting patients to recovery rooms. Handle difficult counseling situations regarding rape, STIs, and late abortions while ensuring informed consent. Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and stock supplies. Obtain medical histories, counsel clients on reproductive health care options, and schedule appointments. Comply with infection control, safety, and emergency guidelines while maintaining professional demeanor.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development "GED" required.
  • Certified Ultrasound Technician.
  • Medical assistant certificate required.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and critical thinking.
  • Ability to relate to diverse communities.
  • Must possess a warm, caring demeanor.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to read and implement written instructions.
  • Ability to physically assist a patient in distress.
  • Surgical services require the ability to physically transport patient from procedure to recovery room.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times.
  • Able to work flexible hours and locations within PPOSBC as required.
  • Strong commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service is required.
  • Must thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate high level computer skills including; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Electronic medical records experience may also be required.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 yrs. experience in clinical setting desirable.
  • Reproductive, managed/primary health care and/or abortion services experience desirable.
