Job Summary

Perform ultrasounds for surgical and non-surgical patients up to 24 weeks gestation, including intraoperative guidance for IUD removal and pregnancy terminations. Provide accurate sizing, dating, and communicate findings while handling difficult counseling on rape, STIs, and late abortions. Conduct patient interviews, obtain medical histories, and educate clients on contraceptives and reproductive health care. Perform basic lab work, process specimens, and triage abnormal results. Assist providers before, during, and after procedures by obtaining vital signs, transporting patients to recovery, and translating instructions. Clean and sterilize equipment, stock exam rooms, and prepare the center for opening and closing. Work alongside nurses and clinicians to ensure high-quality, efficient delivery of reproductive health and primary care services.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development "GED"
  • Certified Ultrasound Technician
  • Medical assistant certificate
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Ability to demonstrate mature judgment, initiative and critical thinking
  • Ability to relate to diverse communities
  • Warm, caring demeanor
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and implement written instructions
  • Ability to physically assist a patient in distress
  • Ability to physically transport patient from procedure to recovery room

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rigorous environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • High level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Electronic medical records experience

Desired Qualifications

  • 2 yrs. experience in clinical setting
  • Reproductive, managed/primary health care and/or abortion services experience
