Job Summary
Operate all sonographic equipment to produce quality sonograms consistently within ACR department protocols while following good radiation safety practices. Properly assess patients according to exam orders with appropriate documentation, screen for pregnancy, and provide pertinent patient education. Maintain patient records and accurately utilize the RIS system according to department standards. Rotate and provide services at all facilities by taking monthly call, working open shift coverages, and participating in daily coverage. Perform non-technical duties as assigned, including stocking rooms, transporting patients, and training new staff.
Required Qualifications
- Applicant must have passed ARDMS Physics exam for registry
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of accredited ARDMS Program
- Minimum of one (1) year
- Ability to perform quality sonographic procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively with others
- Ability to rotate and provide services at all facilities
- Ability to take monthly call
- Ability to work open shift coverages
- Ability to participate in daily coverage
- Ability to properly assess patient according to exam ordered
- Ability to provide patient education pertinent to exam being performed
- Ability to document in patient EMR
- Ability to comply in accurately and completely utilizing RIS
